Guachinche El Laurel

Description

Guachinche El Laurel is a traditional guachinche, with Canarian food and home-produced wine in the town of La Perdoma, in the municipality of La Orotava.

The establishment is located on a farm, with farmland and vineyards in the surrounding area. They have fitted out a building as a lounge, which functions as a dining room. It is a totally rural and rustic place, in the countryside, very simple, perhaps a bit hot in summer and poorly ventilated.

Near the access where it is located, there are some parking spaces.

As for food, the menu is a bit austere, as is often the case with more traditional guachinches. You can find dishes such as fresh cheese, wrinkled potatoes with mojo sauce, chickpeas, meatballs, fiesta meat, goat meat, sardines…

They make some homemade desserts, such as timba (cookies with white cheese and guava jam), coffee dessert, yogurt with fruit…

The wine is home-grown, red and served in bulk. Very good.

The service is correct, and the prices are quite affordable.

They usually close as soon as they run out of wine, until the start of the next harvest and the new wine.

If you are looking for a traditional and simple guachinche, close to farms and vineyards, not very crowded, where they serve home-produced wine and homemade Canarian food, Guachinche El Laurel is a place to consider.
