Guachinche El Descarado is a modern guachinche specializing in rice and grilled meats, opened in 2025, in the municipality of La Orotava.
It is located in the El Ramal area, on a road very close to and parallel to the northern highway. It is located in an area with a private parking lot for its customers.
It features a comfortable, rustic-looking indoor living and dining room with wooden furniture. It also has a covered terrace with large windows and great views of the highway and the lower part of La Orotava, as well as a large outdoor terrace sheltered from the sun and rain, providing a very comfortable stay.
Its gastronomic offering is wide and varied. The menu includes starters and sharing dishes such as soup, stew, various salads, croquettes, cheeses, escaldón (fried fish), chickpeas, ropa vieja (cooked clothes), mushrooms stuffed with almogrote (fried mushrooms), sweet potato timbale with cod, stampede eggs, goat meat, fiesta meat, and more. Fish options include squid, garlic prawns, fish with onions, fish and seafood in a marinara sauce, and grilled meats such as sirloin, roast chicken, chops, ribeye steak, entrecote, cachopo (fried meats). And various rice dishes and fideuá, including black rice with octopus, vegetables, seafood, señoret, and more.
For dessert, they offer some homemade varieties, such as quesillo, grandma’s cake, coffee flan, cheesecake… along with other varieties from renowned pastry brands on the island.
As for wines, they offer a fruity house red and white , served in bulk and sourced from a renowned island winery. They also have a small selection of bottles from both island and national wineries.
The prices are reasonable, but on par with any restaurant, higher than those of a traditional guachinche. The portions are well-stocked, and the food is very well prepared and presented.
The staff is attentive and provides professional service. It’s surprising that the wait time isn’t too long, even when the place is packed.
In short, Guachinche El Descarado is ideal if you want a hassle-free place to serve Canarian food and rice dishes in La Orotava. They’re open every day, have parking, are easy to get to, are accessible, offer a wide variety of delicious options and dishes, and offer good service and reasonable prices.

Vergüenza
Fatal el trato de la entrada con una educación excelente el encargado de apuntar a la gente nos trato mal y encima tratándome de tu me parece una falta de respeto hacia un cliente y luego decirme que no tengo educación yo me parece fatal , le pido la hoja de reclamaciones y me contesta que cuando me siente me la da me parecio muy mal su actitud hoja que le tuve que pedir a una compañera cuando ya estaba sentado porque el no se molesto en traerla.Y luego tardan mucho en traer la comida y los potres .
La verdad que el sitio tiene mucho que desear

Con reserva de hora esperamos, los camareros pocos y no sabÃan dónde atender, cuenta con pedidos duplicados y para remate nos cobraron dos veces la cuenta y dijeron que la devolverÃan el sábado noche y hoy miércoles no la han devuelto y con el datáfono lo hubiesen hecho en ese mismo momento
Para una ocasión bien pero no repetirÃa
Fuimos en familia a probarlo por una recomendación en redes sociales y en general decepcionante. Tardaron 30 mints en atender nuestra reserva que estaba realizada con una semana de antelación. Nos tocó una mesa cerca de la zona donde cocinan las paellas y hacÃa bastante calor. Los huevos gomeros y las croquetas estaban ricas pero el solomillo descarado estaba frÃo, se notaba que no estaba recién hecho. Pedimos la cuenta y 15 mints después nos dicen que tenemos que ir a pagar a otra zona. En general, algunos platos ricos pero sensación de caos y desorden con el personal. No repetiremos.
