Borgoñón de Sandra is a picturesque guachinche near the sea, with typical Canarian food and local wines at a good price in the town of Punta del Hidalgo, municipality of San Cristóbal de La Laguna.
It is located next to a dirt path that runs parallel to the sea, in an area with farms and greenhouses, and pools on the coast for swimming.
Entering its walls, we find a large open-air space, with terraces, with areas covered by umbrellas and roofs, with more formal tables and others for relaxing made with pallets and recycled materials.
Their menu is simple but rich and varied, more oriented towards seafood. You can find starters and dishes to share such as cheese, salad, potato salad, shrimp, tuna salpicón, fish croquettes and churros, battered mushrooms, squid in sauce, sardines… and some meat options such as fiesta meat, bichillo or pork chops.
For dessert they usually have ice cream from well-known brands, but they do not make their own creations.
As for wines, they have house wine served in bulk, from their own harvest.
The prices are good, cheap. The portions are adequate and the food tastes good.
The service provided by Sandra and her team is good, they are friendly people. Although if the place is crowded the service and organisation can be a bit chaotic, so you need to have a bit of patience in summer and on weekends.
If you are going to swim in Punta del Hidalgo or take a walk around the area, Borgoñón de Sandra is a great place to stop, either for tapas, lunch, a snack… a place at the foot of the path, in an area of puddles, where you can eat well at moderate prices, and enjoy the weather and the outdoors.
