Guachinche El Listán Negro

Description

Guachinche El Listán Negro is a small traditional guachinche serving homemade Canarian food, home-produced wines and grilled meats.

It is located on a steep and narrow street near the La Perdoma neighbourhood, in the municipality of La Orotava. It does not have a private car park, so it can be a bit difficult to get to and park in the surrounding area.

However, the place is idyllic, clean and very welcoming . El Guachinche is surrounded by vineyards, in an old house that has small and picturesque interior rooms that are very warm and well decorated , as well as a magnificent covered outdoor terrace with good views.

The menu is not very extensive, but it is very tasty and of great quality. As starters we will find options such as almogrote, cheese board, vegetable tempura, various croquettes, boiled eggs, some stew or spoon dishes, vintage meat… And in grilled meats we will find Iberian pork or pork bichillo.

The desserts are homemade . The most notable is the pear soaked in red wine, one of the house specialties.

The wine is red and produced in-house . Very tasty. Sometimes they also have white wine, either their own or from other producers in the area.

The service and treatment of the staff is quite good, they are very close, friendly and very professional.

You can also take a walk through the estate’s vineyards, which is part of the guachinche, either before, after or during the meal between courses.

The quality of the food is quite good, the prices are reasonable and the portions are not small.

In short, Guachinche El Listán Negro is a perfect place to enjoy a good Canarian meal, either among the vineyards and enjoying the magnificent views, or in its cosy dining rooms. You will be well attended to and the bill will be quite reasonable.
