Bar Palma is a simple and inexpensive establishment serving Canarian food, specialising in fried rabbit and salted grouper, in the municipality of La Victoria de Acentejo.
It is a family business that has been operating for several decades, located on the ground floor of a house.
It consists of several small dining rooms, with wooden furniture and a simple, somewhat old-fashioned appearance, like the most traditional guachinches.
There is no private parking available. There are parking spaces available on the road where it is located, but they are usually occupied and it is somewhat difficult to park nearby.
Their menu is rather austere, without much variety. Basic dishes but tasty and well cooked. You can find fresh cheese, fabada, chickpeas, stewed potatoes… and their most popular and in-demand dishes: stewed octopus, salted grouper and fried rabbit.
They make homemade desserts every day, which they vary and rotate. They are usually desserts based on coffee, chocolate, cookies… They also have ice cream from well-known brands.
The house red wine is very tasty. Served in bulk, it comes from independent winegrowers in the area.
The service is good, as is the quantity of the portions served and the prices of the dishes. So in general it offers a good quality-price ratio, typical of an establishment of this class.
As a curiosity, this bar was also a small lottery administration, and on one occasion it distributed considerable prizes in the Christmas Lottery.
If you fancy a simple, family-run and affordable bar, which serves good fried rabbit, octopus or stewed grouper, with good local wine, Bar Palma may be a good option in La Victoria de Acentejo.
