Tasca La Tanquilla is a simple, picturesque and family-run establishment serving Canarian and Spanish food in the centre of Güímar.

It is a small but very cozy place, located inside an old house accessed through a small door.

The place is very well decorated, with a rustic atmosphere, antique objects, lots of wood… Inside there are some tables, but it also has an outdoor patio where they have arranged several very inviting tables for when the weather is nice.

This is a very well maintained family business run by its owners.

There is no private parking, but there are plenty of parking areas in the surrounding streets. It is not difficult to find parking nearby.

The menu is not very extensive but it is very rich and varied. You can find options and dishes such as mackerel salad, stuffed tomatoes, chickpeas, fabada, scrambled eggs, squid, sirloin sautéed with mushrooms…

All the dishes are very tasty and well prepared, but customers especially highlight the stuffed tomato, the squid and the sirloin sautéed with mushrooms as the most recommended dishes.

For dessert they usually make a homemade cake, which is usually very tasty and highly recommended by their customers. Sometimes they also make a different variety of dessert.

They have house red wine served in bulk, from winegrowers on the island, as well as some bottles from national and island wineries.

The service is quite good. They advise you well and are very friendly.

The prices are reasonable. Higher than those of a traditional guachinche, but very reasonable and in line with both the quality of the products and the quantity of food served in their portions. As a result, it offers a very good quality-price ratio.

If you are near Güímar and are looking for a place that serves good home-cooked food at reasonable prices and with generous portions, in a picturesque and cozy place, with an outdoor patio, relatively easy parking and where they provide good service, Tasca La Tanquilla is a very good option.
