La Cueva de Nemesio is a Canarian food restaurant that opened its doors in the 90s, located in Arafo, on the road that goes up towards Teide.

It has gone through several owners and renovations. In 2023 it has new owners and management.

It consists of a very comfortable covered outdoor terrace, a large dining room suitable for celebrations and events, as well as small, picturesque rooms immersed in the interior of a cave.

Their menu is extensive and varied. You can find starters and dishes to share such as soups and stews, cheeses, salads, escaldón, chickpeas, various croquettes, octopus salad, stamped eggs, crispy aubergines, fiesta meat, goat meat… Great rice dishes and paellas, from the garden for vegans, with lobsters, with octopus, black rice with senyoret, traditional Valencian… Fish dishes such as stewed cod, salted fish… Meats such as steaks, chops, T-bone steaks, entrecotes…

The desserts are homemade, made daily. You can find cheesecake, spiced apple pie, orange cake with chocolate, flan, black forest cake, carrot cake…

They offer bulk wine , both fruity white and red, from renowned wineries on the island. They also have a small selection of bottles from national and island wineries.

It has a parking lot for its customers, next to the road. Due to its location on the way to Teide, it is a great place to enjoy a good meal while on a route or excursion.

The staff’s attention is quite good and friendly.

The prices are far from what you can find in a guachinche, but they are adequate for the quality, preparation and quantity of food served in their portions .

In short, Cueva de Nemesio is a picturesque restaurant serving delicious, elaborate Canarian food, right on the road, with parking, easy to get to and with good service.
