Bodega El Zacatín , also known as Guachinche El Churrasco , is a traditional guachinche of which there are very few left in the north of Tenerife, in the municipality of Santa Úrsula.
This is a winery that makes its own wine and offers a few dishes to taste and accompany. Their menu usually only offers 5 dishes. Fresh cheese and fabada as starters . Grilled meats include steaks, chicken and pork skewer. With French fries to accompany them if you wish.
As for drinks, they only have house wine , water and lemon-lime soda.
In addition, you will not find desserts, coffee or any other type of food or drink, in the purest style of the guachinches of yesteryear.
The premises are located in the middle of a narrow and rather steep street, surrounded by a natural environment in the upper part of Santa Úrsula. This may pose a problem for some types of drivers who may prefer more accessible and comfortable places. However, they do have some parking spaces for their clients.
The few dishes they offer are delicious and very well prepared. The food is very cheap and the portions are generous. The wine is a 10.
The winery usually closes and ends the season around June , when they run out of wine. In November they reopen their doors with the arrival of the new wine harvest .
If you want to experience a traditional guachinche , just as they were in past generations, Bodega El Zacatín is a very good option.
