Restaurante La Pimienta is a well-known establishment in the municipality of La Matanza de Acentejo specialising in fish and seafood at very affordable prices given the cost that this type of product usually has.

This is a single-family house not far from the main road, which has a large living room with wooden tables and chairs. Next to the house, at the back, there is a plot of land used as a private parking for its clients.

Customers can arrive and choose the pieces of fish they prefer from a large display case, where all the fresh fish of the day is displayed .

The menu includes starters and dishes to share such as fish soup, escaldón, salad, cheese, shrimp, prawns, limpets… Dishes such as roasted cuttlefish, octopus served in different ways… and of course, the pieces of fresh fish that you choose, cooked the way you prefer.

The desserts are homemade , and you can choose from varieties such as frangollo, quesillo, tiramisu, mousses… and seasonal fruit such as pineapple, melon or mango.

As for wines , they have house wine served in bulk, red and white, from independent winegrowers on the island. They also have a good selection of bottles of Canarian white wines, whether dry or fruity, as well as bottles of red wines from the island and Ribera del Duero.

It is a very busy restaurant where queues often form on weekends and holidays. When the restaurant is full, the noise can be a bit annoying due to the large number of people inside.

The place is super clean and they treat you wonderfully, very friendly, as well as giving you advice and counselling appropriately.

Restaurante La Pimienta is one of those places that are worth visiting despite the queues and the ambient noise, as they offer very fresh fish and seafood, of good quality, well cooked and at very affordable prices, as well as providing good service and having parking. If you like fish, this is one of the places you should definitely visit.
