Candelaria La Cocinera Restaurant is an establishment serving homemade Canarian food, just like in the old days, in the centre of Garachico.

Located on a narrow street, the restaurant occupies an entire old house that has both indoor dining rooms and wonderful terraces and patios. In general, the place is pleasant and very welcoming, as well as clean and comfortable.

There is no private parking for guests, but you can find parking in the various streets in the area or in the town’s public car parks.

Their menu is extensive and very varied, with all kinds of options for vegetarians, vegans, carnivores… As starters and dishes to share you can find a variety of cheeses, Iberian ham, soups and stews, salads, spicy potatoes, garlic mushrooms, chicken wings, battered prawns, grilled vegetables, chickpeas, fabada, squid in sauce, cooked meat, scrambled eggs, omelettes… Main fish dishes such as cod with sweet potatoes, stewed octopus, grouper casserole, rice soup with seafood or lobster, fresh fish of the day… And meat options such as chicken, fried rabbit, roast ribs, steaks or pork chops…

They make a variety of homemade desserts, particularly their surprise dessert, which consists of yogurt with dulce de leche.

They have house wine served in bulk, both red and fruity white, from independent winegrowers on the island. They also have bottles from wineries on the islands and national ones.

The service is very good, both from the owners and the employees. Friendly and committed people, who know how to recommend their clients very well.

The prices are good, adequate, as are the portions . The food is very tasty, well prepared , with good products.

If you are on a tour or a trip through Garachico or the lower island, the Candelaria La Cocinera Restaurant is a great option if you fancy home-cooked, delicious food with a variety of options, in a charming place, with good prices and service.
